Get Real. Get A Life! PRAY AS YOU GO WEB MINISTRIES Get Love! Give Some Love!

God always answers our prayers: Sometimes His answer is: Yes. Sometimes His answer is: No.
Sometimes His answer is simply to: Wait!

Christians pray to God, in Jesus' Name, to Praise Him, Thank Him and sometimes Ask Him for what they need. Notice our requests should be for what we need, and not simply our wants. There is a big difference.
He knows already, but we should humble ourselves and Ask Him. This may take more than just 1 prayer.
We may have to keep on asking.

Remember though that sometimes His answer is Yes, No or Wait.

However, it IS alright and sensible to speak to someone, with skin, i.e. a human being about choices, decisions,problems and issues:

If you feel unable speak to your parent/s or carer/s about a problem, sometimes it is better then to choose a reliable experienced adult to whom you can speak confidentially and in a safe environment:
This trustworthy person may be a parent/carer,aunt, uncle, grandparent, teacher, your doctor, nurse,
pastor/priest or a counsellor at an Advice/Drop-in-Centre.
These adults will have more wisdom,experience and knowledge of life and its problems, than your friends with whom you may have chosen to share your issue.

When we change from childhood to adolescence, it is not unusual to feel awkward as our bodies and physical appearance begins to change on the way to adulthood.

Teenage boys will have growth spurts, may feel gangly, sprout facial and body hair as a result of hormonal changes and activity within the body.

Similarly due to hormonal changes, girls chests and hips will begin to fill out, they will start menstruation and also often feel self-conscious until they become used to these changes.

However, all of this is natural as part of the physically maturing process that God intends for us on our way into adulthood:
Psalm 139:

14 I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made:
marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.
Isaiah 53:2 New International Version (NIV)

He grew up before him like a tender shoot, and like a root out of dry ground. He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to him, nothing in his appearance that we should desire him.

The above bible passage, from the Old Testament, foretells hat there will be nothing in Jesus's physical appearance that we wwill find attractive nor enticing.

This is starkly in contrast to today: Physical appearance is the strong focus in society, fuelled by constant advertisements promoting mainly facial perfection and then clothing. Daily we are bombarded with ways of changing or enhancing our faces and bodies:

It is a shame that inner beauty is not promoted as it is true that beauty is only skin deep.

Looking at some elderly people, you cannot tell that in their youth they were beautiful or handsome. However, what one can sometimes tell, from their faces, the kind of life they had, lived and what they were like. Hence it is said that an elderly person sometimes has the face they deserve: Sometimes the hardships of their life's experiences are manifested in angry, bitter-spouting behaviours: They have lived without Christ, doing everything in their own strength.

They have borne the stresses, strains, worries and feelings of guilt - real or false.
Genesis 1:26 New International Version (NIV)
Then God said, "Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground."
1 Samuel 16:7 New King James Version (NKJV)

But the LORD said to Samuel, “Do not look at his appearance or at his physical stature, because I have refused him. For the LORD does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.”
Psalm 139:13-18

13 For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.
15 My frame was not hidden from you
when I was made in the secret place,
when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.
16 Your eyes saw my unformed body;
all the days ordained for me were written in your book
before one of them came to be.
17 How precious to me are your thoughts,[a] God!
How vast is the sum of them!

a. Psalm 139:17 Or How amazing are your thoughts concerning me

18 Were I to count them,
they would outnumber the grains of sand—
when I awake, I am still with you.
1 Samuel 16:7 New King James Version (NKJV)

But the LORD said to Samuel, “Do not look at his appearance or at his physical stature, because I have refused him. For the LORD does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.”
